April 2025

The April showers came to inevitably bring some May flowers. April also brought some warm days that teased summer in Milwaukee. We worked on some Spring cleaning and eating; eating clean and with lots of color.

Early in the month, we celebrated our smart, sweet, Sephora and Harry Potter loving niece Camila's 10th birthday. A quaint gathering at Tita's house with pozole and fantastic desserts.

Happy Birthday!

In the middle of the month we honored my lifelong friend, my "framily", Alyssa for her bridal shower. I am incredibly happy she found a real one and excited to be part of their love story. I also got to spend time with my family and close friends, and was literally surrounded by my nieces the whole time. It was a beautiful day.

The very next day, more family and friends gathered to celebrate our cousin Addison's 1st Birthday! Addison is sweet and social and very vocal, has the brightest blue eyes and is going to be walking in no time! Happy 1st Birthday, Miss Addison!

The month continued with time spent at home, spring cleaning and resetting. Our cousin Selena celebrated her golden birthday alongside her fiancé Eusiel, celebrating his 30th with a party at Club Charlies. Tato and I worked the bar for the night as DJ Fetus spun the tunes and the place filled with dancing, laughter and lots of shots. Easter was spent with a relaxing day at home. Our friends Colin and Mera came over for some snacks, mimosas and a few rounds of Jackbox. Enjoy some of the April food highlights.

At the end of the month, Tato and I joined our friends Colin and Mera on a visit to Chicago. The main objective was to explore the new Harry Potter Shop and we also walked the river walk and spent some time on Navy Pier. The Harry Potter Shop was definitely unique and had a lot of content from the Harry Potter books/movies. There was a lot of clothing and cloaks, wands and trunks, chocolate frogs and Bertie Bott's Every Flavor Beans, plush stuffed animals, novelty mugs, books and stationary and replicas of the horcruxes. Sorry to the muggles who don't know what I'm talking about. The weather was warm and windy and made for nice walking conditions.
