Instantly kicked off the month with a day filled with family, friends, food, drinks and fun! On the 1st, we attended our annual Taco Christmas celebration where our “framily” gets together, each bringing a different element of a taco dinner (including tequila). The little ones were all elated to be part of the festivities, the food was fantastic and a White Elephant of oddities capped off the night. That, and a screening of Days of Thunder with surround sound. It was a fun night with lots of laughs and memories made.

On Groundhog's Day, we celebrated a belated January birthday for our niece, Avalin. We gathered at Tita's house for pernil, Puerto Rican rice and some sweet treats. Happy Sweet 16, Avalin!
Later in February, we joined a group of friends at 90s2k café in Milwaukee. Themed after it's name, the bar was covered in 90s and early 2000s relics including walk-mans, Jelly sandals, Nokia cellphones, Tamagotchis, Blockbuster movie cases, pay-phones and so much more. The music was mostly sticking to those 2 decades but dabbled into some newer stuff, too. The place was not overly crowded with a diverse group of all ages forming an energetic and light-hearted community truly representing Milwaukee.

The middle of the month brought lots of snow and chilly days, we had about a foot of snow at home when it was all done!
We had to work for Valentine's day but were able to celebrate with a few fun things before and after the work weekend. Thursday the 13th we went to the theaters for a re-showing of the first Harry Potter movie, airing in 3D for the first time ever! Tato slept through almost all of it.
Sunday, the 16th, Kate and some friends celebrated Galentine's at home with the movie Wicked and snacks themed for the movie. |
