 Happy "1st" Birthday to my nieces, Kennedy & Kassie! Born on February 29th, 2024 they won't officially turn "one" until 2028! We celebrated their first birthday at their home with friends and family.

  We rang in the New Year while working at Club Charlies with a few close friends and dozens of tipsy customers. We kept the party going until a “late” 3:30am. There is no bar close time in Wisconsin on NYE so the bar goers are as excited as kids on Christmas morning.  On January 5th, we celebrated a belated Christmas with Tato’s immediate family  at his mom’s house. The small group of 18 of us enjoyed Tita’s albondigas and Esme’s basque cheesecake. We reminisced with old family photographs, played festive games and engaged in a competitive White Elephant.  Max & Tato, circa 1988 We also asked Tato’s niece, Camila, to be a Junior Bridesmaid in our wedding and she gladly accepted the role.   The April showers came to inevitably bring some May flowers. April also brought some warm days that teased summer in Milwaukee. We worked on some Spring cleaning and eating; eating clean and with lots of color.  Citrus Broiled Salmon with a fresh herb sauce Topped with pomegranate seeds Plated with carrot rice, broccolini, garlic basmati and ribeye Early in the month, we celebrated our smart, sweet, Sephora and Harry Potter loving niece Camila's 10th birthday. A quaint gathering at Tita's house with pozole and fantastic desserts.  Tita and Camila Happy Birthday! In the middle of the month we honored my lifelong friend, my "framily", Alyssa for her bridal shower. I am incredibly happy she found a real one and excited to be part of their love story. I also got to spend time with my family and close friends, and was literally surrounded by my nieces the whole time.  Instantly kicked off the month with a day filled with family, friends, food, drinks and fun! On the 1st, we attended our annual Taco Christmas celebration where our “framily” gets together, each bringing a different element of a taco dinner (including tequila). The little ones were all elated to be part of the festivities, the food was fantastic and a White Elephant of oddities capped off the night. That, and a screening of Days of Thunder with surround sound.
